Spring Collection

majr uniquely celebrates that which exists at the intersection of art and technology. Our first artist collection for Spring 2023 represents the beating heart of this celebration; curated to recognize what is happening now by emerging alt pop artists that are defining the future of music.

The theme for this collection is ghostfade. When technology allows us to abandon each other with the swipe of a finger, we invite the listener to ask what can be discovered about the self through the power of connection and disconnection? In the wake of being ghosted, people are left in disconnection with both themselves and each other. What new strength and vulnerability is available when we’re left to heal our own wounds?

A kind of uber playlist, ghostfade recognizes, shares and explores the connection between vulnerability, loss and personal growth.

Each artist in this collection uniquely expresses an essential story that touches on loss and growth. Here are a few of the incredibly talented artists we’re fortunate to be featuring over the next 4 months.

  1. DBMK
New York-based alt-pop project, DBMK, aims to create underdog anthems for a new generation. Their songs explore love, loss, joy and misery with compassion and curiosity.
  2. HOAX
HOAX is an American indie pop duo that’s the musical brainchild of Michael Raj and Frantz Cesar. Their vintage musical sound draws from a wide variety of influences across the 60s, 70s, Motown and R&B to create a “sound of beautiful sadness.”
  3. The Orphan The Poet
Based out of Columbus, Ohio, THE ORPHAN THE POET catches eyes and ears thanks to their electric live show and singalong hooks. The band has made waves all over the country appearing on festival bills like Firefly Music Festival, Riotfest and Summerfest and garnering the attention of SiriusXM’s Alt Nation KROQ in Los Angeles and BBC’s Radio1.
  4. OSTON
LA-based OSTON is making a name for herself for her vulnerable, diary-like writing style. OSTON’s debut EP Sitting at the Kids Table garnered over 4.5 million streams. Her single “Lie About You” (2021) received 150,000 streams within the first five days of its release, as well as placement on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday’ and Apple Music’s ‘A-List: Pop.’
  5. Moontower
Moontower is an electro-pop Los Angeles-based trio consisting of Jacob Berger, Tom Carpenter and Devan Welsh. Originating at the University of Southern California, Moontower is known for their conceptual content and highly visual live shows.
  6. Mothé
Indie alternative artist Mothé, born Spencer Fort, just released their debut album, I Don’t Want You to Worry Anymore. Mothé explores hurt, healing, and moving into the future with provocative soundscapes that demonstrate deep care and attention to how a song can sound like it feels.
  7. Poe the Passenger
LA-based pop rock, Poe the Passenger, is an indie force set on creating a family of fans by creating and expressing themes of authenticity and love in the face of turmoil.
  8. Rags and Riches
Lexington-based brothers, Tanner and Peyton Whitt, performing as the adrenalized American alt-pop duo, Rags and Riches, aim to bring hope and inspire a generation of dreamers.

Every artist in this collection represents incredible talent.

We hope you enjoy the music and the stories behind how the music came to life.

Thanks -jamie
